About me
I was born in 1989. I have always drawn things in my life, but the way I perceive the world has mostly been through logic and mathematics.
I've been working in the marketing and visual communications industry since 2012. I started out as a self-employed person, and as I discovered my passion for design, I continued my education through numerous courses, including a bachelor's degree program.
Education
My first university education began at Bilkent University , in the Computer Programming Department. However, I was searching for something to pursue at the time. After three years in the department, I decided I didn't belong and dropped out.
It was during this period that I was introduced to the design world at a communications agency. After working for about two years, I enrolled in the Bilge Adam Web and Graphic Design (300-hour) program.
I was in the right place; I had landed a design job. While my career continued , I graduated from Turgut Özal University's Graphic Design Department.
I was determined to pursue visual communication. While continuing my professional design career , I also graduated from Gazi University's Photography and Video Department.
The future of marketing communications lay in social media, and I wanted to get the right training. I enrolled in the Social Media Marketing Specialization program at Northwestern University via distance learning.
Marketing
My introduction to graphic design brought me into the world of marketing. Visual communication was a key element of holistic marketing, but what truly captivated me was thinking from a marketing perspective. I built my education and career around understanding marketing tools and observing companies' marketing objectives . This also gave me the opportunity to work as a business development and marketing consultant.
Of course, we need to understand the difference between sales and marketing . In our country, these two concepts are still confused. This is why we face challenges in establishing a domestic brand. On this topic, you can rely on the information provided by Güven Borça , whom I also follow with great interest.
Career
During my studies, I consistently held various positions in the marketing field. I view graphic design as a strategic communication tool. Therefore, when designing, I strived to create solution-oriented designs based on marketing objectives rather than visual aesthetics. This position positioned me not only as a graphic designer but also as a marketing consultant. Upon request, I also took on the opportunity to manage the marketing processes of several businesses, taking on operational responsibility. I currently continue to work as a freelance business development consultant and designer.
